How to Play Frau Holle
- One player starts and rolls both dice.
- Depending on the number of eyes, either the player himself, his left or right neighbor or a freely chosen person must drink.
- If a player gets a pair, he becomes “Frau Holle”. Everyone has to call him that from now on.
- Whoever forgets “Frau Holle”* has to drink. At the next pair, “Frau Holle” changes.
The rules of the game in detail
9 – Left neighbor drinks
7 – Right neighbor drinks
Pasch – Choose who drinks (1/2/3/4/5/6er Pasch = distribute 1/2/3/4/5/6 drinks)
2+1 – The person who rolls the dice becomes Frau Holle
(All other numbers) – Drink it yourself
*”Frau Holle” must be called that or addressed formally. – If not, you must drink.
Frau Holle for Advanced Learners
Each Frau Holle may always forbid 1 new word.
Every word remains for the entire game.
