History and Origin
The Bloody Mary was supposedly invented in the 1920s by bartender Fernand Petiot at Harry's New York Bar in Paris. The cocktail was originally called the "Bucket of Blood" and later renamed the "Bloody Mary," supposedly after the English Queen Mary I. The Bloody Mary is known for its ability to cure hangovers and is often served at brunches or other early morning events.
